Tud-om poetic word constructions
Tud-om text is made up of couplets and the two verse lines exhibit parallelism in three aspects: (1) sound, (2) morphology (morphophonemics), and (3) meaning (synonymy). Below are examples of the morphophonemics of the text. Words in the second verse lines are altered, particularly adding the rhetorical marker /es/. In addition, archaic words in the second verse lines are substituted for words in the first (not shown below). For example, the archaic word “sisem” is substituted for “inum” (to drink).
